# Verifying a Majik Universal ID

> How to complete Didit KYC and earn a verified badge on your MUID

## Overview
Upgrade your Majik Universal ID from Unverified to Verified by completing Didit's KYC flow. A verified MUID displays a badge on your public profile and anchors your signing keys to a real-world identity.

### Why Verify?

An unverified MUID is fully functional — you can sign files and publish SLinks — but it carries no KYC backing. Completing verification adds a trusted badge to your public profile, increases the credibility of your signed content, and unlocks the full trust tier system. Verification is powered by Didit, a third-party identity verification provider.

### Verification Stages

Didit checks four stages to complete verification: ID Verification (government-issued document scan), Liveness Check (biometric selfie to confirm real presence), Face Match (cross-referencing your selfie against the document photo), and IP Analysis (network risk assessment). All four stages must pass for your MUID to reach the Verified tier.

### Starting Verification

1. **1. Open the Universal ID Panel**
   *id.majikah.solutions/id*
   - Log in and navigate to id.majikah.solutions/id.
   - If your MUID is Unverified, a Verify your identity card is shown at the top of the panel.

2. **2. Start the Didit Session**
   *Launch the KYC portal*
   - Click Start Verification. A Didit session is created on the server and a new tab opens with the Didit KYC portal.
   - If a session already exists but was not completed (status shows In Progress or Not Started), click Continue in Didit instead — this reuses the existing session without creating a new one.

3. **3. Complete the Didit KYC Flow**
   *In the Didit portal*
   - Follow the on-screen prompts in the Didit portal.
   - Have your government-issued ID ready (passport, national ID, or driver's license).
   - Complete the liveness check using your device's camera.
   - Ensure your face is clearly visible and matches the photo on your document.
   - Didit will process your submission. Status may show In Review if manual review is required — this can take up to a few hours.

4. **4. Return and Refresh**
   *See your updated verification status*
   - Return to id.majikah.solutions/id and click the Refresh button (↻) in the top toolbar.
   - If all stages passed, your MUID will display the Verified (or higher) badge.
   - If a stage failed or was flagged, the panel shows the current session status and a Continue in Didit button to resubmit.


> **NOTE:** If you need to start over, click Cancel on the verification card to discard the current session. You can then restart from scratch. Sessions in In Review status cannot be cancelled.

### After Verification

Once verified, your MUID is locked for 30 days. During this period it cannot be revoked or deleted — this is a security measure to prevent key-swap abuse. After the lockout expires, you may revoke the identity and create a new one if needed. Your verification status and all passed stages are displayed publicly on your MUID profile page.

### Need to Correct Information First?

If your profile information does not match your government ID, the KYC check will fail. Click Delete & Re-create from the panel while your MUID is still unverified to start over with the correct details. You cannot change personal information after verification.
