# Install Majik Message (PWA)

> Step-by-step instructions to install Majik Message as a Progressive Web App on any device

## Overview
Install Majik Message on your phone or computer and access it like a native app — no app store required. This guide covers installation on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows.

### Install It Like an App — No App Store Needed

Majik Message is a Progressive Web App (PWA). That means you can install it directly from your browser and use it just like a native app — with its own icon on your home screen or desktop, full-screen experience, and offline support. There's no app store, no large download, and no waiting for updates. The app updates itself automatically in the background.

> **NOTE:** Already on Windows? Majik Message is available on the Microsoft Store as a native desktop app — no extra steps needed. The PWA option below works great for macOS users who want the same desktop app experience without visiting the Store.

### 📱 iOS (iPhone & iPad) — Safari

1. **Open Safari**
   *Safari is required on iOS*
   - Open the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad
   - iOS requires Safari for PWA installation — Chrome and other browsers on iOS do not support adding PWAs to the home screen with full app capabilities

2. **Navigate to Majik Message**
   *Visit the web app*
   - In the Safari address bar, go to message.majikah.solutions
   - Wait for the page to fully load

3. **Tap the Share Button**
   *Open the Share menu*
   - Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward
   - If you're on an iPad, the Share button is in the top navigation bar

4. **Select 'Add to Home Screen'**
   *Find the install option*
   - Scroll through the Share menu and tap 'Add to Home Screen'
   - A preview screen will appear showing the Majik Message icon and name
   - You can edit the display name if you'd like, though the default is recommended

5. **Tap 'Add'**
   *Confirm the installation*
   - Tap 'Add' in the top right corner to confirm
   - The Majik Message icon will appear on your home screen instantly
   - Tap the icon to launch it — it opens full-screen, just like a native app


### 📱 Android — Chrome (Recommended)

1. **Open Chrome**
   *Chrome gives the best Android PWA experience*
   - Open Google Chrome on your Android device
   - Chrome is recommended — it installs Majik Message as a proper app with its own icon in your app drawer and home screen
   - Other Chromium-based browsers like Edge and Brave also work using the same steps below

2. **Navigate to Majik Message**
   *Visit the web app*
   - In the Chrome address bar, go to message.majikah.solutions
   - Wait for the page to fully load

3. **Install from the Menu or Banner**
   *Two ways to install*
   - Option A — Install Banner: Chrome may automatically show an 'Add to Home screen' or 'Install app' banner at the bottom of the screen. Tap it and confirm.
   - Option B — Menu: Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner of Chrome, then tap 'Add to Home screen' or 'Install app' from the dropdown

4. **Confirm Installation**
   *Tap Install to finish*
   - A pop-up will appear showing the Majik Message name and icon
   - Tap 'Install' or 'Add' to confirm
   - Majik Message is now installed and will appear in your home screen and app drawer just like any other app


> **NOTE:** Using a Samsung device? Samsung Internet Browser also supports PWA installation. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the bottom of the screen, then select 'Add page to' → 'Home screen'. On some Samsung devices, you'll also see a small install icon appear directly in the URL bar.

### 💻 macOS — Chrome or Edge (Recommended)

1. **Open Chrome or Edge**
   *Pick your preferred browser*
   - Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your Mac
   - Both browsers support installing PWAs to your Mac's Dock and Launchpad
   - Safari on macOS supports PWA installation via File → Add to Dock (Safari 17 or higher required)

2. **Navigate to Majik Message**
   *Visit the web app*
   - In the address bar, go to message.majikah.solutions
   - Wait for the page to fully load

3. **Click the Install Icon**
   *Look in the address bar*
   - Look for a small install icon (looks like a monitor with a down arrow, or a computer with a plus sign) on the right side of the address bar
   - Click it, then click 'Install' in the prompt that appears
   - Alternative: Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner → 'Save and share' → 'Install page as app' (Chrome) or 'Apps' → 'Install this site as an app' (Edge)

4. **Choose Where to Pin It**
   *Set up your shortcuts*
   - A dialog may ask where you'd like to pin Majik Message — you can add it to your Dock, Launchpad, or both
   - Click 'Allow' or 'Install' to confirm
   - Majik Message will open immediately as a standalone app window and will be available in Spotlight search and your Launchpad


> **NOTE:** macOS Safari users: With Safari 17 or higher, you can install Majik Message directly from Safari. Go to message.majikah.solutions, then click File → Add to Dock from the Mac menu bar. The app will be added to your Dock and Launchpad.

### 💻 Windows — Chrome or Edge

1. **Check for the Microsoft Store Version First**
   *The Store app may already be the easiest option*
   - Majik Message is available on the Microsoft Store — search for 'Majik Message' in the Store app for a one-click native install
   - If you prefer the PWA route or want a second install alongside the Store app, continue below

2. **Open Chrome or Edge**
   *Both work great on Windows*
   - Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your Windows PC
   - Edge is built into Windows and tends to have the tightest PWA integration on the platform

3. **Navigate to Majik Message**
   *Visit the web app*
   - In the address bar, go to message.majikah.solutions
   - Wait for the page to fully load

4. **Install the App**
   *Use the address bar icon or menu*
   - Look for the install icon on the right side of the address bar (a monitor with a down arrow in Chrome, or a plus sign in Edge)
   - Click it and then click 'Install'
   - Alternative (Chrome): Click the three-dot menu → 'Save and share' → 'Install page as app'
   - Alternative (Edge): Click the three-dot menu → 'Apps' → 'Install this site as an app'

5. **Launch from the Start Menu**
   *It's now a proper app*
   - Click 'Install' to confirm — Majik Message will open immediately in its own app window
   - You can find it in the Start Menu and pin it to your Taskbar just like any other Windows app

### PWA vs. Native App — What's the Difference?

For most users, the experience is identical. The PWA version of Majik Message runs the same encryption engine, has the same features, and works offline just like the native desktop app. The key differences are in distribution: the native desktop app installs through the Microsoft Store and gets tighter OS integration on Windows, while the PWA installs in seconds directly from your browser with no store account required. Both are always up to date — the PWA updates silently in the background, and the Store app updates automatically through the Store.

> **NOTE:** Once installed, Majik Message works offline for local encryption and decryption — no internet connection required for those features. Real-time chat, cloud file storage, and contact lookup require an internet connection.

### iOS Users: Use Safari for Installation

> ⚠️ **WARNING:** On iPhone and iPad, PWA installation only works through Safari. Even if Chrome or Edge is your default browser, you must open Safari specifically and navigate to message.majikah.solutions to install the app. Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot install PWAs with home screen icon and standalone app behavior — this is a system-level restriction by Apple, not a Majik Message limitation.
