# Setting Up Your Majik Universal ID

## Overview
A Majik Universal ID (MUID) is your public, verifiable identity on the Majikah platform. It is required to use the Invoice Cloud Exchange — and it permanently binds your Majik Key to your Majikah account in a strict 1:1:1 relationship. This guide explains what a MUID is, when you need one, and how to create or load one inside Majik Buwiz.

### What is a Majik Universal ID?

A Majik Universal ID (MUID) is a public identity profile that permanently binds three things together: your Majikah account, a single Majik Key (holding your Ed25519, ML-DSA-87, and ML-KEM-768 keypairs), and optionally your verified real-world identity through Didit KYC. Once bound, this relationship is strict and immutable — one Majikah account, one Majik Key, one MUID. The same Majik Key cannot be bound to two different MUIDs, and you cannot hold two MUIDs on the same Majikah account.

> **NOTE:** A MUID is only required for the Invoice Cloud Exchange. If you use Majik Buwiz purely offline — creating, signing, and exporting invoices locally — you do not need a MUID at all. You can set one up at any time from the Majik Universal ID tab.

### Why the Exchange requires a MUID

Every invoice published or sent through the Invoice Cloud Exchange is permanently tied to the sender's MUID. This is a strict design requirement, not an optional feature. It means recipients can always verify who issued an invoice and confirm the issuer's Majik Key before accepting anything. There are no anonymous invoices in the Exchange — if you do not have a MUID, you cannot send or receive invoices through it.

### What your public MUID profile shows

Your MUID has a public profile page that anyone can visit to inspect your cryptographic identity. Visitors can see your public signing keys and key fingerprint, your verification status (unverified or Didit KYC-verified), and your verification badge if applicable. Users can drag and drop any signed file — including a Majik Buwiz invoice file (.mjki) or a raw invoice signature string — onto your public profile page to verify the signature against your public key. The profile does not expose any private information, passphrase, or secret key material.

### Setting up your MUID in Majik Buwiz

1. **Open the Majik Universal ID tab**
   *Located in the main navigation*
   - Navigate to the Majik Universal ID tab inside Majik Buwiz.
   - If your Majikah account already has a MUID bound to it, it will be loaded automatically — no setup required.
   - If no MUID exists yet, the setup flow will launch from this tab.

2. **Log in to your Majikah account**
   *Required for online identity binding*
   - A Majikah account is required to create a MUID. If you do not have one yet, register at majikah.solutions.
   - Log in with your Majikah credentials. This account is strictly used for the online relay and identity layer — your invoices and private keys remain local to your device.

3. **Bind your Majik Key**
   *The 1:1:1 binding*
   - Your currently loaded Majik Key will be bound to your MUID. Make sure the correct key is loaded and unlocked before proceeding.
   - Once bound, the key cannot be swapped to a different MUID, and this MUID cannot be reassigned to a different key.
   - If your Majik Key is already in use on another Majikah account's MUID, the binding will be rejected.

4. **Optional — Complete Didit KYC verification**
   *Adds a verification badge to your public profile*
   - KYC verification is entirely optional. An unverified MUID is fully functional for the Exchange.
   - Completing Didit KYC adds a verification badge to your public profile, signalling to recipients that your identity has been independently verified.
   - A verified MUID is locked for 30 days after verification — it cannot be revoked or deleted during this window. After 30 days, revocation is possible if needed.
   - An unverified MUID can be deleted and recreated at any time.

> ⚠️ **WARNING:** The binding between your Majik Key and your MUID is permanent while the MUID exists. If you delete an unverified MUID and create a new one, you can bind a different key — but all previously signed invoices will remain signed under the old key's fingerprint. Existing signatures are not retroactively invalidated, but they will no longer match the new MUID's active key.

> **NOTE:** If you already use another Majikah product — such as Majik Message or Majik Signature — and have an existing MUID bound to your account, it will be detected and loaded automatically when you log in. You do not need to create a new MUID.
