This is a local, seed-phrase-based cryptographic account that holds both your signing keys (used to seal every invoice) and your encryption keys (used for confidential invoice sharing). Everything else — a Majikah account, a Majik Universal ID, an internet connection — is optional and only needed if you want to send or receive invoices online through the Invoice Cloud Exchange. > **NOTE:** If you already use another Majikah product such as Majik Message or Majik Signature, you can reuse the same Majik Key in Majik Buwiz. All Majikah products share the same underlying key management SDK and all Majik Keys are fully interoperable. ### Step 1 — Install Majik Buwiz 1. **Download from the Microsoft Store** *Windows only (v0.1.1)* - Search for Majik Buwiz in the Microsoft Store, or visit apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mzz1gm9238r directly. - Click Get and follow the installation prompts. - Once installed, launch the app. The onboarding flow will start automatically on first run. ### Step 2 — Complete the onboarding flow 1. **Create or import your Majik Key** *Your cryptographic identity* - On first launch, the onboarding wizard will open. The first step is to set up your Majik Key. - If you do not have a Majik Key yet, choose Create new key. You will be asked to set a passphrase — this passphrase protects your key locally using Argon2id hashing. Choose something strong and memorable. - If you already have a Majik Key from Majik Message or Majik Signature, choose Import existing key. Majik Buwiz accepts three backup formats: a .json seed file, a .png backup image, or a manually entered 12/24-word seed phrase. All three restore the same key. Your passphrase will remain the same as when you originally created the key. - Write down your 12/24-word seed phrase and store it somewhere safe. This is the only way to recover your key if you lose your device or forget your passphrase. Losing the backup file means permanently losing everything tied to that key — your invoice history, your signing identity, and access to any Majikah products that use it. 2. **Set up your business profile** *Used as the sender on all your invoices* - After your key is set up, the wizard moves to your business profile. This is the sender information that will appear on every invoice you issue. - Fill in your legal name or business name, TIN (Tax Identification Number), address, and other relevant details. - This information is stored locally on your device and is never sent to any server unless you explicitly share an invoice through the Exchange. 3. **Optional — Set up a Majik Universal ID** *Required only for online invoice exchange* - The final onboarding step will prompt you to create a Majik Universal ID (MUID). This is only required if you want to send or receive invoices through the Invoice Cloud Exchange. - A MUID is a public identity profile that binds your Majik Key to your Majikah account. All invoices sent through the Exchange are strictly tied to a MUID — this is a design requirement. No MUID means no access to the Exchange. - If you prefer to stay fully offline for now, you can skip this step. The onboarding flow will be marked as complete and you can go online later at any time from the Majik Universal ID tab. ### Unlocking your key each session Every time you open Majik Buwiz, you will be prompted to enter your passphrase to unlock your Majik Key. This unlock is session-based — the key remains accessible for the duration of that app session, and is automatically cleared from memory when you close or restart the app. There is no auto-lock timer while the app is running. If you need to change your passphrase, you can do so from the Majik Universal ID tab. If you forget your passphrase, the only recovery path is to delete the key from the app and re-import it from your backup file. > ⚠️ **WARNING:** Back up your seed phrase before doing anything else. Your 12/24-word seed phrase is the master backup for your entire Majik Key. If you lose both the app data and the backup file, there is no recovery path — not for your invoices, not for your signing identity, not for any Majikah product tied to that key. Store it offline in a secure location. ### Account types at a glance | Account type | What it is | Required for | Where it lives | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Majik Key | Local seed-phrase account holding your signing and encryption keys | Everything — the app cannot function without it | Your device only — never transmitted | | Majikah account + MUID | Online identity profile binding your Majik Key to a public, verifiable identity | Invoice Cloud Exchange (sending and receiving invoices online) | Majikah servers (public profile only — private keys never leave your device) | *Caption: Understanding the two account types in Majik Buwiz.* ### Step 3 — Create your first invoice 1. **Navigate to My Invoices** *Start from the invoices tab* - Once onboarding is complete, go to the My Invoices tab. - Click New Invoice to open the invoice builder. - Your business profile information will be pre-filled as the sender. Add a recipient (from your Contacts or entered manually), line items, taxes, and any notes. - Save the invoice as a Draft at any time. When you are ready to issue it, sign it — your Majik Key will seal it with both Ed25519 and ML-DSA-87 signatures automatically. > **NOTE:** Next: Setting Up Your Majik Universal ID — if you want to go online and use the Invoice Cloud Exchange, the MUID setup guide covers everything you need.
