A contact can belong to multiple groups, and groups have no effect on cryptographic operations. ### What are groups? Groups are named collections of contacts in your Majik Buwiz directory. They are purely organizational — they have no effect on invoice signing, encryption, or Exchange operations. A contact can belong to multiple groups simultaneously. Groups can have a name, description, and optional color for visual identification. ### Creating a group 1. **Open the Contacts tab** - Navigate to the Contacts tab. - Open the Groups section and select New Group. 2. **Name and configure the group** - Enter a group name (required). - Optionally add a description and choose a color for visual identification. - Save the group. 3. **Add contacts to the group** - From the group's detail view, select Add members and choose contacts from your directory. - You can also assign a contact to a group from the contact's own detail view. - A contact can belong to multiple groups — there is no limit. ### Using groups Groups appear as filter options in the Contacts tab, letting you quickly narrow your directory to a specific set of contacts. They are also available as filter dimensions in the invoice search and filter panel, so you can find all invoices issued to contacts within a particular group. ### Deleting a group Deleting a group removes the group and its membership records only. The contacts themselves remain in your directory — they are not deleted along with the group. Any invoices previously issued to members of the group are also unaffected. > **NOTE:** Some groups may be marked as system groups — these are created and managed automatically by Majik Buwiz and cannot be deleted manually.
